COOPERANTS at FACIS Connect 2026 in Berlin

neusta aerospace took part in the hackathon at FACIS Connect in Berlin, presenting, among other things, the Digital Contracting Service project — another building block for scaling COOPERANTS.

Through neusta aerospace’s participation, COOPERANTS is directly linked to the European 8ra initiative and European Industry 4.0 structures (such as Manufacturing-X). At FACIS Connect 2026, COOPERANTS demonstrates that the German aerospace industry is not pursuing a technological path of its own, but is actively helping to shape the blueprint for the future European data economy.

FACIS CONNECT 2026, held in June 2026, focused centrally on strengthening European digital sovereignty and establishing federated data ecosystems. The event brought together experts from leading organizations such as Airbus, Schaeffler, Schwarz Digits, and the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW Berlin) to discuss the strategic need to reduce dependency on US hyperscalers and the rapid pace of AI development in China.

A key focus of the discussions was the necessary shift in industrial mindset: moving away from proprietary “all-in-one” solutions toward open, collaborative standards. Alongside the strategic debates on sovereignty, the second day of the conference offered deeper insights into technical aspects such as data management, zero-trust architectures, and collaboration within the aviation industry.

The aviation industry in particular is facing a massive digital transformation: how can more than 50,000 stakeholders — from airlines and airports to ground handling personnel — be connected securely and efficiently? The answer lies in the convergence of federated ecosystems and zero-trust architectures, which is precisely the focus of FACIS’s work. Further information is available here.

Thanks to open standards, the Digital Contracting Service (DCS) fully supports the functions of COOPERANTS and elevates the data space to a new level through automated, legally binding contract conclusions within federated data ecosystems. It serves as a crucial “commercial enabler” that, combined with GXDCH for identity management, automates onboarding and the contractual layer in aerospace. Further information is available on the FACIS website.

Overall, FACIS CONNECT 2026 proved to be an important platform for advancing Europe’s technological independence through closer industrial collaboration and the development of resilient, federated infrastructures.
