COOPERANTS visits the ECSSMET

ECCSMET 2024

Noordwijk (Niederlande), September 23-27, 2024: The COOPERANTS consortium recently participated in the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials, and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET) 2024, which took place from September 23 to 27 at ESA/ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This significant event, co-organized by Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR), Centre national d’études spatiales  (CNES), and the European Space Agency (ESA), brought together leading experts from the mechanical engineering community to discuss innovations of mechanical design, innovative structures, environmental testing, advanced manufacturing, and digital engineering applications.

As a consortium dedicated to advancing smart services and developing a shared dataspace in the aerospace sector, COOPERANTS found the event to be an essential platform for exchanging ideas and exploring collaboration opportunities, much like in the digitalization workshop.

ECSSMET 2024 covered a wide range of important topics, including Structural Design & Dynamics, Materials & Advanced Manufacturing, Testing & Monitoring as well as Sustainability & Digitalization —all areas that align closely with the core goals of COOPERANTS.

The sessions dedicated to Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) and Digital Engineering provided valuable insights that we aim to integrate into our ongoing work. These conversations are particularly important as we continue to develop and validate smart services that support the European space industry’s digital transformation.

ECSSMET also offered an excellent opportunity to connect with new partners and strengthen ties with existing collaborators from industry, space agencies, and academia. As we move forward, COOPERANTS remains committed to contributing to the future of space technology and fostering collaboration across the European space community.

Stay tuned for further updates on how COOPERANTS is utilizing these learnings to drive innovation in the aerospace industry!
