Ein neuer Mitbestreiter auf dem Weg Richtung Digitalisierung: OVHcloud

  • OVHcloud wins DLR tender and becomes cloud infrastructure partner for COOPERANTS project

The COOPERANTS consortium is pleased to announce significant progress towards digitized aerospace. OVHcloud, a leading European cloud provider, has successfully won the public tender of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the consortium leader of the COOPERANTS lighthouse project. OVHcloud is a global player in the cloud segment and the European market leader in this field. The company operates more than 450,000 servers in 37 data centers on 4 continents and serves 1.6 million customers in more than 140 countries.  OVHcloud will also provide the cloud infrastructure for the Gaia-X project COOPERANTS. This partnership marks a milestone in the development of European cloud infrastructure and emphasizes OVHcloud’s commitment to a secure and sovereign digital future for Europe.

The COOPERANTS (Collaborative Processes and Services for Aeronautics and Space) project within the Gaia-X initiative focuses on creating a common European data space for the aerospace industry that meets the highest security and data protection standards. OVHcloud, in collaboration with the COOPERANTS consortium led by DLR, will help lay the foundations for a secure and trustworthy cloud platform that meets the requirements of the aerospace industry and the project partners.

Falk Weinreich, General Manager Central Europe at OVHcloud, emphasized the importance of this partnership: “We are proud to have won the public tender of the German Aerospace Center and look forward to working together on this groundbreaking project. OVHcloud has always been committed to driving European digitalization and ensuring the sovereignty of our customers. Partnering with the COOPERANTS consortium on the Gaia-X project is another step in this direction and underlines our ability to provide highly secure and trusted cloud infrastructure for demanding applications.”

Dr. Caroline Lange, coordinator of the consortium in the COOPERANTS project, also welcomed the collaboration: “OVHcloud offers us a powerful cloud infrastructure that supports and promotes the innovative strength of all consortium partners in the COOPERANTS project. The company meets various requirements of the project, such as hosting the data in European data centers, the sovereignty of the data according to European standards and the C5 certification of the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security) for a secure cloud. We will see the first results when we ramp up the technical services and the data room is accessible via a top-level domain.”

The partnership between OVHcloud and the COOPERANTS consortium will make it possible to offer advanced cloud services that meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry, including public cloud services, private cloud services and dedicated servers in OVHcloud’s data centers. The complete development solution will be made available to the COOPERANTS project, including staging, master devops platform, bid-environment and many other services.

This partnership strengthens OVHcloud’s position as a trusted European cloud provider and helps to consolidate Europe’s digital sovereignty. OVHcloud is proud to be involved in the further development of Gaia-X COOPERANTS and looks forward to a successful collaboration with the consortium.
